Sasha von Varga, LCSW

WHAT DOES THE PROFESSIONAL DO

Sasha von Varga has worked as a therapist in clinical mental health care services since 1994, working with children, teens, families, individual adults, couples, and groups.  He has worked in community agencies, and several local hospital settings on an inpatient and outpatient basis, and is currently in private practice as a therapist, supervisor, and clinical consultant.

Sasha has worked with clients in divorce affected circumstances since he started  working.  In 2000 Sasha sought Divorce Mediation training because he saw the impact that divorce had on all family members and he thought that there could be a way to mitigate the impact on children and the family- and that this might keep children out of his office and free from the second-hand battle scars that so many children exhibit.

Sasha joined the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois in 2010 because of the inherent value in having a team of professionals working together as needed to help divorcing families create lasting, effective, and child focused parenting and financial agreements.  In that model, financial neutrals, child specialists, divorce coaches, and attorneys bring their expertise work with clients to assure that the goals of the family are identified and attended to in a deliberate and comprehensive fashion.
